I just realized I needed something that's ever trusty where I could write down future thoughts. Things aren't working out too well right now, but I'm not calling this a blog entry either.

BASIC INTERVIEWING and Ricky Lo

Making an interview in journalism is the simplest assignment, actually. All you have to do is make sure that you KNOW THE TOPIC OF INTERVIEW, get some BACKGROUND about the person you're interviewing, and be humble enough to say 'No' IF you are NOT CAPABLE OF INTERVIEWING. However, Ricky Lo, the oh-so popular intrigue-specializing personality on TV and PS columnist, gave basic interviewing a shot, and you won't believe with whom. With ALAN MENKEN.

Click this, but brace yourself for the utmost shame.

Oh, and by the way, Alan Menken created the scores of The Little Mermaid, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Aladdin, Pocahontas, Beauty and the Beast.. You get the idea. Just listen to his music when you have time, and you'll blurt out "Genius." I mean, ever since I was small, Alan Menken was a house name, and I've always dreamed of meeting him.

Yeah, Ricky Lo has face enough to write something like this. And I didn't even mention anything about Lea Salonga here, who is like, the ultimate in broadway because she won a Tony with Elaine Page on the list.

Angst on Les Mis

Shouldn't it have been Marius ♥ Eponine? Okay, I like Cosette, but I like Eponine better. Maybe it's because Lea Salonga played Eponine, but still. And the song A Little Fall of Rain pierces the heart, right?

Just angst-ing. :))

D*mn ABC, they should apologize on bended knee

'OK, before we go any further, can I check these diplomas? Just to make sure they aren't, like, from some med school in the Philippines?'

It's not just an insult towards Philippine med schools. It's an insult towards Filipinos around the world. As Pat Evangelista said in her award-winning speech, we are your nurses, caregivers and engineers in the US, London and everywhere else. The Filipinos have world quality, and then ABC would say it wasn't meant to discriminate anything?

I agree with Miriam (I'm starting to get fond of that woman, she's always a fun scene at 24 Oras): the apology isn't enough. I also don't think that the scene should just be edited. No offense to the fans, but I never liked Desperate Housewives. Its script was always towards racial purposes. Stop watching the show.

Taking a Very Serious Break

I've been watching the ZTE-NBN Senate hearing. Miriam walked out. Joker slept. And did you see Migz Zubiri? He looked like the stupidest person on earth. Every time the camera went his way, he scratched his head, tried to look earnest and acted as if he was thinking hard. The effect was that he looked like a semi-Neanderthal baboon. Wanna bet? He didn't know what the hell all the other senators were talking about. For goodness' sake, he postponed his 3 minutes and asked Joker Arroyo to take his place?

And he's in the Senate of the Philippines. Shame.

Maybe it'd be better if he'd just use his time scrubbing off the lipstick in his campaign posters. Yeah, that'll do the world so much good.

I'll be back during the sembreak. Bye for now.

The ZTE Deal shows how greedy people can be. Miriam Defensor-Santiago was right--they're all wasting the time of our senators. Abalos, have a conscience.

Potter Tragedies

Dearest JK,

Why did you have to kill my favorite couple of all? Especially my most favored witch--I loved Tonks above all because she was brave and witty and funny and prepared to take chances for the dictates of her heart. You had me shocked; I stared at the same line on that page for almost five minutes. But I didn't cry.

And Lupin too! (Even if you put the romance at the end of book 6, their couple immediately attached to me.)

You are brilliant, though. The impact of the deaths of Fred and so many other characters totally shattered me. Especially Hedwig's and Dobby's. Congratulations for making the finale a real masterpiece, even if it was the most tragic I've ever felt when I read it.

Nice going for the comic reliefs. "Holey" was a bit shallow, but it made me smile. Ron and Hermione's X-rated scene amidst the chaos had me laughing. And Trelawney dropping crystal balls had me rolling over.

The most beautiful part was when Fred and Percy stood side by side, fighting.

Thanks for making Voldemort look like a complete jerk. Never did like him much. :) Thanks too, for the epilogue. The Sorting Hat was not wrong when he placed Neville in Gryffindor--and he became the little Potters' and Weasleys' professor! That was great.

Aww, Snape. Don't worry, Snivellus, you've got a lot of drooling lovers, and I'm one of them. Hahaaaa.

Well, JK, congratulations again. I guess I'll go upstairs and feast my eyes on Hallows for the second time.

Hugs and lots of magical kisses,
Your #1 Tonks fan/HP fanatic/Gryffindor-sorted Hogwartian

Webmail, finally; Go, Fighting Maroons!

After a long, tiring day (I had Socio, come on), I talked Kevin and Mar into venturing through the Com Center and activating our Webmail accounts.

Congratulations to us, we have our UP Webmail! :)

Just thought I'd post that. My brain's a little too strained to write about all the heavy stuff from my classes.

"Heeeey. UP go. UP fight. Hey, let's go, let's fight!"

I loved the cheerleading class this morning.

Till then. Till Math again. :)

addicted

I love you, Johnny Storm! You are bleepity-bleeping hot! (I also mean this literally)

After the longest waiting one can ever experience, my mom and I finally watched Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer at Metro East. I had such a fun time, as I love Marvel, love the Fantastic Four, and love Chris Evans as Johnny Storm. I wouldn't want to put any spoilers here (I take pity on those who wait for the DVD release), but I'll happily say that the movie was, indeed, very enjoyable. There was humor, action, superb special effects, good acting, and a better plot compared to the first installment. Not to add that my long-time crush on Chris Evans triggered another squealing session when we were on the way to Pisay (to fetch my sister). :)

And just for the record, look at hot stuff. )

Classes tomorrow.

I've just noticed that Rupert Grint's current hair looks like that of the 16-year-old George Harrison. Cool. :)

Harry Potter mode for the third time

I'm still reading Order.

I had the biggest thrill of my life today. Actually, I'd count it as a qualified special episode for Fear Factor. After settling down inside our van, mommy handed me a plastic of pastries and puto, so I could satisfy my rumbling tummy. Sister Nitz (a fellow Legionary in the senior presidium), who sat beside mommy in front, gave me a styro cup with--guess what--dinuguan.

I had not eaten that Filipino viand for, say, six years (...?), because of a God-knows-why reason. And my closest friends know it: I would eat any other normal food, except dinuguan.

Well, Sister Nitz smilingly handed me the cup and proudly said that she cooked it herself. Politely I smiled. But I already had serious thoughts about leaving it be and eating the pastries instead.

Until we passed CnP (which isn't very far from Gate 3). Sister Nitz, yet again, turned to me and smiled, asking if her dinuguan tasted good. I was still holding the cup, so I said yes, but when she continued to stare, I had to swallow my prolonged chewing of bread and finally taste the food.

For the record, I swallowed a spoonful, and when Sister Nitz was satisfied and had turned away, I had to keep my mouth shut until we got home (thank goodness we now live in Marikina).

So much for that heart-racing experience.

Anyway, the exams this morning were alright. I had fun in CL, because morality is, as always, morality itself. Filipino wasn't that hard (2nd record for the day). I was able to pass the exam. I really felt it.

Too bad that there are two in our batch who wouldn't graduate with march. I like them both very much. :(

I'm gonna go download more Emma Watson studio shots. Emma rocks! :)

Harry Potter mode again

I'm still not feeling guilty. :)

I'm taking my last two HS exams tomorrow, and I'm still not feeling guilty about my Harry Potter mode. I've been reading Order for three and a half hours now, and I've been doing it comfortably in the master's bedroom. My Fili and Gabay to El Fili have been shoved off to the couch nearby. I promised myself I'd stop reading Harry at 5:30, and guess what--I'm in front of the computer again.

I can't wait for Deathly Hallows. Ron and Hermione! :)

Check out Dan's Equus photos on Dan Radcliffe dot com. He's hot, damn it.
